Mahatma Gandhi - Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.

The Wise Woman's Stone

A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation. The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But a few days later he came back to return the stone to the wise woman.

"I've been thinking," he said, "I know how valuable the stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me something more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me the stone. - Author Unknown

do not feed yourself with the food of anyone of ungenerous eye, nor show yourself craving his tasty dishes. for as one that has calculated witin his soul, so he is. "eat and drink," he says to you, but his heart itself is not with you. your morsel that you have eaten, you will vomit it out, and you will have wasted your pleasant words. - proverbs 23:6-8

the twentieth century - by trevor cairns.

deadheading and pinch back

every cloud has a silver lining

check your thumb, it might be green

I treasure these words of wisdom

There exists the one speaking thoughtlessly as with the stabs of a sword, but the tongue of the wise ones is a healing. - Proverbs 12:18

The one despising his own fellowman is sinning, but happy is he who is showing favor to the afflicted ones. - Proverbs 14:21

Better is it to be lowly in spirit with the meek ones than to divide spoil with the self-exalted ones. - Proverbs 16:19

Pleasant sayings are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and a healing to the bones. - Proverbs 16:24

He that is slow to anger is better than a mighty man, and he that is controlling his spirit than the one capturing a city. - Proverbs 16:32

Anyone holding back his sayings is possessed of knowledge, and a man of discernment is cool of spirit. - Proverbs 17:27

One scientist estimated that our brain can hold information that "would fill some twenty million volumes, as many as in the world's largest libraries."  Some neuroscientists estimate that during an average life span, a person uses only 1/100 of 1 percent (.0001) of his potential brain capacity.

Why do we have a brain with so much capacity that we hardly test a fraction of it in a normal lifetime?
